Meet Dr. Emily Mayo, DC
Dr. Emily’s Chiropractic Journey Begins Early
Dr. Emily Mayo, grew up as a chiropractic patient. Her father sought chiropractic care for marathon injuries, and her mother for headaches. From birth, her parents prioritized regular chiropractic check-ups for her. Throughout her active teenage years in soccer, gymnastics, and pole vaulting, she relied on chiropractic care. After seeing the benefits firsthand, she began to truly grasp the profession’s full scope while interning in a chiropractic office during college. From that experience, Dr. Emily knew early on that her mission was to help people, and thus, she chose chiropractic as her path.
Dr. Emily’s Education and Early Career Achievements
Dr. Emily left Wisconsin to attend Life University in Atlanta, Georgia, for chiropractic school. She quickly became active on campus, teaching and leading the largest technique club. In her senior year, she joined a mission trip to bring chiropractic care to underprivileged communities. Dr. Emily Mayo graduated with honors, earning awards for clinical service and communication skills.
Dr. Emily Establishing Her San Diego Practice: A Commitment to Community Care.
Drawn by her love for the ocean, Dr. Emily Mayo moved to San Diego and opened a Center for Life practice in Pacific Beach. She focuses on family care, from pregnancy and birth onward, and enjoys working with athletes. In addition to her other specialties, she also focuses on TMJ issues and hiatal hernias. She is active in the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, teaches seminars in MLS chiropractic, and is certified in the Webster Prenatal Technique.
